This browser acts like a audio visual thesaurus. The top search field looks for images. Type in words and pictures appear. Use the slider to control various aspects of the images, ie their size or movement and speed. The lower search field looks for sounds online and the swithces make these sounds mix together.
Subfusion acts a on a series of codes that collects data from other websites. The notion of the image is transformed, subverted and re - appropriated. Everything becomes image just for a second. The browser connects you to a world of possibility, it connects you to an unlimited amount of sound and visual data and then it fuses it into something else. The aim is to revolutionise the way we seek information on the web and the way this information is represented. Rather than linking through texts the aim is to visualise the way we respond to search of data online and to make audio visual connection in a networked space. The first version allows multiple environment. Later versions will be working in real-time pulling information from across the web randomly re-assessing and reinterpreting the information superhighway. This is also an art web portal that can be used as an alternative interface for the enjoyment of the web.
Subfusion is a new type of browser. It searches the net for images and sounds. It is an audio visual thesuraus. This browser can be downloaded which can be installed and run on your machine. It has a fully integrated generative audio visual system built into it.
Subfusion makes collages, cut out from the hybrid sections of the web, where sounds and images appear relevant to your search. This software fuses sound and images, it acts by constantly making collages and chopping them up again. The sounds are generative, spliced, chopped and looped.
Subfusion examples are the screens made in 2000 as experiments for this idea, using various types of data such as financial data, software icons, gif and icons from the net.
